My name is Tiddo Ekens. I drive a Maserati Quattroporte Evoluzione.
It's from the year 2000 and has run 281.000 kilometres.
It has been MOT checked two months ago. I had several things fixed the last year.
The steering house and alternator are revised, lambda sondes are changed...
...so I'm actually quite curious how it is doing right now.
Today I have the chance to look under the car and under the bonnet and see what's happening there.
I have owned it for a year and run 10.000 to 11.000 km with it.
Everything is working in the right order. The steering... and automatic transmission, which has four gears.
The eight cilinders are working well... and the two turbo's are going along in right order.
The original specs of the car a top speed of 270 km/h and 336 horsepower...
are all still there, is my guess and I can tell: it's al lot of fun.
They don't come a lot rarer in 'High Mileage'. It's a Maserati.
It's a Quattroporte Which is Italian for 'four doors'.
It's not a V6 under the bonnet. But a V8 with two turbo's.
It has run almost 300.000 km which is quite a lot.
I went though the service bills that came with the car since it was new...
And the maintanace has cost about the same amount as the purchase price.
Based on that, I would say the car is as good as new. But Henny will have to tell us that.
Seatbelt is fine. Blocking works. Locks okay.
2.6...
I can't see right now... This is just a pop rivet that's loose. It needs a real screw.
Henny, it is a very special, unique car but it has delicate technique...
...and it has covered quite a few kilometres. What did you discover?
It's a very pretty car and drives well. But there are quite a few flawes.
Even some on which it would fail MOT. You would'nt expect that.
The CO-level is too high and the lambda level too low...
We should diagnose what's wrong. - So the combustion is not okay.
The rubbers of the ball joints, steering joints and steering house all have cracks.
That's all MOT failure.
The spiral of the LSPV is broke. So that is not working at all.
MOT failure as well.
You've made a test drive. Are the engine and gearbox doing well?
They're ok. No problems there.
I'm satisfied about the result... I already knew about some of the flaws...
Like the rev counter that's not working and the motor of the right rear window that's broke.
These were already on the list to be fixed.
But some other things surprised me. It's been MOT checked just two months ago...
We saw some points on which it would have failed that.
Like the cracks in de steering joint rubbers... These could'nt have appeared in just the two last months.
I don't know for sure, it's what I expect.
That surprised me. I will get it fixed soon...
Because the car in general, like we've seen this afternoon...
Is in very good shape. Body, engine, technically...
Rust is almost no issue.
I just have to put on the finishing touch... And that's what I'm about to do.
