It's quite possible that you experience academic barriers in your time at McGill. In such situations,
a discussion on access to learning should take place with an access adviser.
You will find on this section of the website (Student Access) information about the first
appointment with an Access Advisor.
There are several services you can benefit from at the OSD. If you decide to use the
services of the OSD, we are keen on making this access to services as convenient as possible.
Forms for example, are online. These are all interactive pages which are in place to avoid
having to ask you to come into the office, unless you feel you like it.
But remember: universal design means having an inclusive access to learning in the class
environment itself. So if your instructors are providing inclusive access or are responsive
to your needs, you should not feel that you are compelled, in any way, to use the unit.
It is there to assist you when the environment still presents barriers.
My name is Frederic Fovet Director of the OSD.
