Drag and drop a tune from the playlist onto a deck
Click the blocks beneath the channel meters to mute/unmute individual audio channels
Drag the tempo between 32bpm and 255bpm without affecting pitch
Transpose pitch by 12 semitones up or down without affecting speed
Back to normal...
Scroll the sample/instrument list, which usually contains the composer’s infotext
Choose a crossfader curve type
Click an instrument to select it...
Then use a MIDI keyboard to jam along live!
Use a secondary audio device as a cue-mix/headphone output
Each deck can be toggled in/out of cue-mix mode - i.e. between main output and headphones
Bias cut crossfader types allow for fast cuts between decks
Drag and drop MOD/XM/S3M files into the playlist
.m3u playlists of modfiles can be loaded or saved
Various other features are being fine-tuned and everything can be controlled by computer keyboard or MIDI
I use a Korg nanoKontrol to control both decks, individual channel volume faders, crossfader, tempo, etc.
This is quite rough...but if we match the BPM and the pitch, we can get a fairly smooth transition...
And tempo lock/sync and momentary hold features make this easier to do accurately
Thanks for watching - version 0.3 will be up soon at http://crayolon.net/chipdiscodj
