Welcome to the first episode of TDT TV.
My name is Christian and I've been a member of the team from the start.
This format will give you an exclusive look behind the scenes and feature interviews with the builders.
This year, the team consists of 20 builders from Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
And the goal is to topple 150,000 dominoes here in the Tulln city gym on March 29th.
You will now see a short clip about the builders' journey here, and the Samuel will go on with an interview with Albert.
Albert, you're one of our younger team members. Where do you come from, and how did you travel here?
I'm from Vienna's 23rd district and got here by car.
And when did you arrive?
I travelled here on Saturday in the morning, and since then I'm staying at Mathias's place.
And what have you been doing in the hall so far, what have been your jobs?
So far I've helped weighing the dominoes...
What's that weighing about, could you explain in short why that needs to be done?
That's necessary because all dominoes need to be counted. We need to know exactly how many dominoes are being set up in the hall.
Have you also been building domino yet, did you do that today?
Yes, I'm currently working on the HLW logo. And we're well in time on our schedule.
So as you could see, some people had quite a long journey to get here.
And now there's a new rubric where we will always be showing you the five best photos of the last two days.
We have increased our team significantly this year. In order to do that, we held a casting with 20 participants.
23,000 dominoes were set up on the occasion. In the end, we chose the 7 best builders.
So here are some impressions from that and the falldown.
But we will not only stay here in the studio with you, we also want to show you the new hall.
So this is the studio area;
and right next to us, there is the timelapse camera. It will hopefully take some great footage.
So this is the VIP area of the hall. It's at the highest point, so it gives a good view on all of the hall.
We will now go on to the bleachers.
This hall is the venue of officiall international matches of handball.
We have about 1,300 square meters of building area.
And a crowd of up to 1,000 people can fill up the bleachers.
So today was the official start of the building, people have started working on the projects.
Matthias Heinzelmann is still busy installing the technical equipment, but the others are already building a lot.
So here's the place where we will have a small buffet at the falldown;
right now it's a bit messy here because we just ate lunch.
And over here you see some stuff Matthias Heinzelmann brought so that we have something to eat and drink during the breaks.
And now let's go down to the floor of the hall and see what's going on there.
And now as we're in the basement, we're going to show you our domino inventory.
That is, the dominoes that haven't been scaled yet.
After the dominoes, I'm now going to show you the technics.
As you can see, it's a big hall, so the ways are long, too.
Just from the studio down to the hall floor, it's two stories.
And now we're going to the cloakroom and take a look at the technics.
Okay, the light's on, too... and here's the technical stuff that hasn't been unboxed yet:
Computers, cable... just in the last 24 hours, at least 500 metres of cable have been installed by me and Matthias Heinzelmann.
Over here, there's more technics; some empty boxes though, some brooms - that's important, too -
And here, we also have the light signal gate for the Builder's Challenge.
And now I'm taking you to the cloakroom that's probably the most important of all: the one with the food and the sweets.
Okay, so besides the builders' clothes, what we can find here are 20 kg of chocolate that Matthias Heinzelmann brought from Switzerland.
Alongside with chips and other stuff we've brought.
Okay, so that's it for the hall tour - as you can see, it is quite huge compared to last year.
We're already at the end of the first episode. If you want to ask or criticize something, leave that in the comments. See you soon!
