bjbj Hi my name s Jason Voiovich from AbleNet and I d like to introduce you to SoundingBoard,
AbleNet s easy communication application for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch. In its basic
form SoundingBoard allows you to create quick and easy communication boards for your students
in the classroom, at home, or on the go. So let s take a look and see how it works. I
launch sounding board from the dock screen. What you ll notice right away is two easy
options, either select an existing board that you created before, or setting up a new board.
We ll take a look at both. Let s first go through and look at the boards we already
have. re going to choose the first one called, Thumbs, essentially it s a thumbs up and thumbs
down. Let s play it. [PRESS UP] Great job! [PRESS DOWN] Too bad. That s as easy as it
is. Too move back you just tap to the menu and move back to the boards. You can see any
of the boards you ve created and create an unlimited number of boards. But the real power
of SoundingBoard is how easy it is to create a brand new board from scratch. Let s go in
and do that right now. Touch Create a new board, and let s give it a name. We re going
to call ours, Numbers, and click Save. Next, we re going to choose the layout. You can
see that we have one, two, three, four, six, and nine message locations. You can choose
anyone that you like, but we re going to choose the two message location. Click save, and
now go in and add our messages. As you can see the board layout is already ready for
you. Touch to create an image, and now the image has three parts; the picture itself,
the message name, and the recorded message. Let s pick the picture first. You can either
choose from hundreds of preloaded AbleNet symbols that come with SoundingBoard, or choose
from the photo library in the iPad itself which allows you to choose any image you like,
or on the new iPod Touch and the iPhone you can take a photo and expand the possibilities
to anything you d like to do right at that given time and situation. So let s go in and
pick the symbol we d like, we ll go with the numbers and choose the number one. Hit save,
and give it a name; we ll call it, One. Now we re going to record the message, [RECORD]
One. Click done and that s as easy as it is, you ve created your first message. Let s create
a second one. Go in and repeat the steps. We re going to quickly go through and choose
the number two. Give it a name, we ll call it, Two, and record the message, [RECORD]
Two. And we re done. Select save, click done, and we can go in and see the board that we
just created. Let s use it. [DEMONSTRATES] One, Two. That is really the power of SoundingBoard.
Within minutes you can have a communication board set up for virtually any situation.
