ebrary administrators can use the Acquisition tab from within their personal ebrary account
to purchase content from ebrary and gain access to various administrative features.
To use the acquisition tab, log into your ebrary account.
If you do not see the admin tab once logged into your account, contact support@ebrary.com
support@ebrary.com to request access to these administrative functions
The first subtab under the Admin tab is your Acquisition tab, where you can choose what type of acquisition model you'd like to use
to acquire new content. For this demonstration, Perpetual Access will be our acquisition model
Once you've chosen your plan, you may find titles by subject or use the advanced search form to search for content.
Find by subject will allow you to choose from Library of Congress Subject Headings and then show publishers offering that content in ebrary.
Select All Publishers or compile a list and then choose Filter to limit results by publication year, list price, ISBN, language and other elements.
Click the Filter button to return results that match your criteria.
You can also use the Advanced Search option from the Acquisition tab to run a search for content.
Choose the information you'd like to search from the pulldown menu, then type your terms on the right.
Add and remove rows as needed to build your query, then click the Search button to return a list of results.
Once you've got a list of results, choose the Long View from the buttons at right to access administrative information like pricing details.
You can click on the title or a book's cover to get preview information and see pages in each section.
From the list, select items you want to order or save by checking the boxes next to each
(or use Select Page/Select All options at the top of the list).
If you want to order now, click on the button to Prepare to Order Selection.
To save these items to a working list for later use, choose Add Selection to Working List
Your working list is accessible from the Search tab, under the List subtab, whenever you're logged into your ebrary account.
To order your selection, click on the Prepare to Order your Selection button. Review the number of documents and click the button Next.
On the Select Documents to Order page, give your order a name and choose a fund code to which purchases will be billed.
Please note, you cannot reuse an order name; the default will be your username and the date of the order (but you can change that).
Next, select whether titles will be available for single or multi-user access. Once you've selected access options for all the titles
you intend to order, note the total order price and click the Review Order button.
Use the Order Review and Confirmation page to review titles and access type, and submit the order when you're ready.
Titles will be available from within your ebrary channel. MARC records for titles ordered are accessible from the MARC subtab under Admin.
