ATHENA REICH: In this clip, I'm going to talk about motivation. I'm going to take an excerpt
from "Shy," from "Once Upon a Mattress." I'm singing to my partner who feels that I'm neurotic.
So, in this particular song and excerpt, I want to reassure my partner. "Look, I'm still
a sweet, good person, even though I have these flaws." So, I might say, [START SONG] "And
you maybe sure, way down deep I'm demure...." [END SONG] So I'm really reassuring my partner
there. I mean if I didn't reassure my partner, I could just say, [START SONG] "And you maybe
sure, way down deep I'm demure...." [END SONG] I'm just doing it matter of fact, but you're
reassured. It gives me extra motivation, reassuring. It's going to be okay, love me anyways, [START
SONG] "And you maybe sure, way down deep I'm demure." [END SONG]
