Ok. You're looking at it. The Samsung X360, the so called 'Macbook Air Killer',
and I totally agree with the people that said that, because this thing is probably one of the
nicest laptops I've ever seen. It's ridiculously thin, it's ridiculously light,
it has the most amazing battery life that I've ever messed with, take a look at this thing,
look how thin it is first of all. The bottom part is just really thin.
It's hard to believe. Let me put it up against my shirt.
Oh, my God, it's so thin. The monitor's gorgeous, this is for the, like...
I don't know I guess the aristocratic ultra mobile professional, that needs to have his
Dual Core, that needs to have all his stuff on here, but needs it to be very light,
very easy to take with him places, have an excellent battery life, excellent conductivity,
they've really gone all out. If you think about it, think about it this way:
Samsung makes some of the best monitors and televisions you've ever seen, and you know
that already they're very well known for that, but they never really showed too much love
to the United States market as far as their laptops go.
So, picture this in your head. You're getting a Samsung monitor on the Notebook.
Now, Samsung also makes memory. They make the actual chips that go on the memory sticks
that other people sell. So guess what kind of memory is in there. Samsung Memory.
Ok? Samsung also makes batteries. They make some of the best batteries on the market for
other providers, not... They don't make batteries themselves but they make batteries for
other people that make batteries. So imagine when they put their best battery, their best monitor,
their best memory, into their product and it's one of their flagship models. One of their
best engineered, flagship models, so they put their heart into this. This is like one of their
nicest products, and I have to really give it to them, they've gone a long way to make a product
that is extremely light. This thing has a frame on it, it's made of magnesium.
All along here is magnesium, all around the frame. Magnesium's lighter than titanium.
I mean we're talking about really really light stuff here, has over 10 hours of battery life,
it's 1.2 inches thick at it's thickest which is actually just a tiny bit,
you know a hair thicker than the Macbook Air. So it's still extremely light,
and imagine. You get an LED backlit screen, you get a solid state drive,
you get an excellent battery, you get energy efficient memory, all this stuff leads up
to 10 hours of battery life. Ok? That's right, 10 hours. This thing is about to die,
I don't think you can zoom in and see it, there's no battery left in this thing.
I've been using it for 3 days straight, there's no battery but watch what happens when I pull
over my cursor. I have probably... I have 14% of battery left, but I still have over an hour,
of battery life at this current state. That is ridiculous. The battery really is quite ridiculous
The 120 GB Solid State Drive that it comes with also loads the operating system,
in record time. It's very very fast, unbelievable. Ok, so.
I blabbered on enough. Sorry about that. I just wanted to let you guys know that I really
like it and... Oh! Wait. Not yet, check this out. They actually sprinkled nano particles
of silver ions, on to the keyboard all down here to make it anti-bacterial.
Yes, that is right. This is an anti-bacterial keyboard, and it's that Chicklet style.
In case you didn't notice, it's Chicklet style which is also extremely nice.
Because, it's really hard to get stuff stuck underneath the keyboard.
If crumbs fall on there, they come right out because there's no where for them
to go underneath. You know, they can get under there, but kind of, underneath there
it'd be really hard. It keeps everything clean, again great for ultra portable,
professionals, you guys got to have everything you need. You need to have the Dual Core processor
and lots of memory, and speaking about that stuff let's get into the specs.
Now, first of all, latest technology - Centrino 2. That's right Centrino 2. Those are 45NM
state of the art, mobile processor from Intel, this one's using the SU9400 which is one of
their highest models. Let's see it has 3MB of L2 cache and 1066 MHz front side bus.
For a mobile processor that's very fast. It actually only operates at 1.2 GHz
which is kind of interesting. But it still is very fast, and that's because they want that
efficient architecture for the latest programs to run everything quickly, but they don't
want the really high frequencies that are going to kill your battery life, and this thing
will go forever. Looking at just the front of it off the back, you will notice that it does not
have too much stuff in the front. There's very little clutter.
And that's one of things I really liked about the design. I can actually flip this all the way back,
so you can see it, kind of weird, but there's nothing really here at all.
It's a very clean design, the only thing you're going to notice off the bat,
is going to be... There is a fingerprint reader right there,
this is your 'Power' button, your touchpad with scroll wheels, your activity lights
for your hard drive and your battery are over here, and then your 'Scroll Lock', 'Caps'
and 'Num Lock' are all up here, 'Power' button, and then the only other thing you'll notice is
up here, you do have the webcam. Ok? But besides that, you're literally not going to
notice anything else. It's very very simple. Very business oriented and with that you will
notice that it is running Vista Business. So you have all the best stuff but none of the extras
that you don't need. The monitor is 13.3 inches if you didn't know.
Ok that's 1024 by 800 lines of resolution, so it's a very sharp Samsung monitor.
The panel looks stellar, I can't really show it 'cause the camera's will watch the brightness.
Very bright monitor, I'm going to dim it down for the cameras, that's as dim as it goes,
and I'll tell you what: At home, when I'm laying in bed, I leave it about right there
before it just kills my eyes. And there's no reason to go above this.
Pretty much, that's how bright it is. Now, what else?
Memory - 3GB. Ok, that's more than enough to run Vista Business, Business can run off of 2GB,
no problem. It's not a bloated up version like Ultimate that has a lot of extra stuff,
it's got just the basics, and it's very powerful. It has 3GB of memory and it's not any memory
it's DDR3 memory which you don't usually find in Notebooks. Very few, expect for the
really big, high performance gaming notebooks that cost pretty much in the same price range
as this, butare about this much bigger. Those are the only ones you are going to see DDR3 memory
with, this does have DDR3 memory, it does have a Solid State Drive as well.
Has 128GB Solid State Drive. That helps with your battery life,
it helps with the fact that... Shock proof. Very shock proof, you can't mess up,
a Solid State Drive. You know if you do this to a normal Notebook long enough,
eventually you're going to corrupt your hard drive. This doesn't have one,
and I know for a fact that when I closed it right now, it went to 'Sleep',
oh, no it didn't. Alright, forget it. The other thing I was going to mention is
the Solid State Drive let's you come out of 'Sleep' instantly.
It stores all your progress and memory, and when you come out of 'Sleep',
it's ridiculous. And plus you can hold this thing for like 4 to 5 days in sleep mode
without losing any battery. It'll just stay the entire time at 100%. Let me give you the,
walkaround now. Starting over here, that's your Gigabit Ethernet.
Very nice. USB 2.0 por... 2.0 right there, this is your ExpressCard slot,
so that's pretty awesome that you can add any type of conductivity you want in there,
a 3G card or whatever. It's a 34 millimeter ExpressCard slot.
Moving down over here you have your microphone and your headphones.
Now we'll switch over to the other side. VGA, right there.
HDMI Out, which is excellent if you have a big TV you want to use as a monitor,
or if you want to show some videos on the big TV to all your friends that you downloaded off
the web or whatever. That's very very useful. You have 2 USB 2.0 ports,
and then right here you have a 7-in-1 card reader that does like the SDs and the XDs
and all your regular old type of cards. And then your power is on the back.
Now, another cool thing I want to show you is actually underneath this thing.
Check out... See that battery right there? You push, tells you how much battery you have
left, I have 20% of my battery left, so you know without turning it on,
how much battery do you have left. Another really good thing, is that Samsung
sells a really really nice docking station to go with this. So if you are a mobile
professional that likes to use your laptop for everything, and just plug into a bigger
keyboard mouse and monitor when you get to your office,
this is perfect for you. This is an amazing port replicator,
and they make a really good docking station for it. It also has charging contact points
right there to charge it, as soon as you put it down without having to plug in the cable,
I think that is absolutely awesome. On top of that you get Bluetooth 2.0
with EDR. Those are... What's EDR stand for Alfred?
- EDDR? - EDDR, EDR, from Bluetooth.
- EDR? - Enhance Data Rate.
- Ah yes. - I'm going to start quizzing you.
This thing has EDR, stereo Bluetooth, you can connect headphones that are wireless.
Alright now that it's off here's my opportunity to show you how quickly it powers on.
I push the button, watch how fast it comes back from 'Sleep'.
It's actually quite impressive. Wow. That is so cool.
This is the Samsung X360. It's a gorgeous notebook, comes in this beautiful shade of red,
and it also comes in black. And it's very easy to get fingerprints on it,
so you got to be careful with it. But,
it is gorgeous. And it is thin, and it is extremely light, it's probably one of the lightest
ones you'll find on the market. 2.7 pounds, it's absolutely ridiculous. The X360.
If you have any questions on it, email me, and I'll see you guys next time.
