My name's Rashmi Rajyaguru and I've just finished my BSc in Management. I came to UWE through
clearing, I chose it because it was the closest university and it did my course. The course
I've just finished involves both the theory side of business; finance, marketing and operations,
but also the practical side as well, so actually going out there and taking part in team building
exercises and visiting companies to actually see what management is all about. Today is
the graduation ball for all final year students at UWE. I'm one of the project coordinators
for the event and I'm specifically involved in the financial side of things. I want to
go into accounting and to be able to produce a business plan and financial account for
such a large event is definitely a good experience I can put on my CV and talk about in interviews
to prospective employers.
Before I came to UWE I was quite quiet, I wouldn't be able to pull off anything like
this. I didn't quite know what my skills were but now I've finished I know that I'm organised,
I've got the confidence to actually pull off such a large event. I think university has
given me the drive and ability as well.
