Everybody knows, that these games will fry your brains,
The violence isn't so good, and it affects you everyday
And you go crazy when you never get to play After getting home from school, I gotta get
outta your way. Ya, but, they also build your hand-eye coordination
They give you motivation and complete your expectations
To have fun, to step away from life and stress When I do good on test, then I go and play
my very best Your social life is awkward; you don't that
many friends, And your debit card is crazy from the credits
that you spend, You should try to get a life, and I say this
as your Dad, And not to hurt your feelings, but yea, that's
kind of sad. Now stop, say you're kind of awkward at school,
Although you follow the rules, your "friends" don't think that you're cool,
And then you go home, and talk to friends on Xbox live,
You might not understand this, but that's just where I thrive!
Ok son, you can go and say what you think So then I'll cut you, I'll shoot you, I'm
gonna make you screech You see it now? You got it? What video games
teach? Violence is the answer, and that ain't something
that you preach Okay Dad, I see your point but
No I don't think you do, Cause without a second thought, you pull that
trigger and... PEW PEW! You gotta understand that this fighting's
not ok, Cause our men are overseas, they get shot,
and there they stay
Alright, I understand, violence isn't okay, I'm well aware of that; you tell that to me
every day. But those men you talk about, that are fighting
overseas, A couple years ago, they children just like
me Maybe a little more basic but, yea, they had
'em too Those shooting games that make the- oh yea!
PEW PEW! The games might have some shooting, but that's
not all that's told, These games can also teach us, what life has
to behold, It's not all fun and games, where you jump
around and play, The violence, you talk about? It happens every
day! The games portray all that, so when we're
gone and on our way, We're aware of what's bad, and when to fight
or run away.
Alright, I see it now, well, nice try, But video games? If that's your answer, we
all would've died. Cause for thousands of years, humans came
out and survived, And a lot of them didn't have "Halo" in their
lives.
I was just saying, that's just an extra thing you gain,
They're called GAMES, you play for FUN, forget life's pains.
Yet you think it's so bad and try to take it away,
I think that's just a little but mean, don't you say?
You gamers are obsessed Dad, let's just lay down the facts.
How much tv do you watch a day? Let's say 2 hours, max.
That's about how long I play, I'm just the same as you,
So rant on me and be a hypocrite yea, That's true.
But most important of all, you gotta see that for me,
That these games mean so much more than going on a shooting spree.
Yea, there's that feeling when you win, the accomplishment you gain,
But that's only a portion of the greatness from these games.
The storyline can make you laugh, or make you wanna cry,
You can play them like a movie, sadly watch the people die.
The graphics make you tremble at how awesome it looks,
So then the feeling of playing can feel like reading a good book.
Like the story of the Walking Dead had brought me down to tears,
And playing good ol' slender made me screaming out in fear.
The emotions that they give can range from happy to sad.
After playing any game, when you look back, then you'll be glad.
