A bill to repeal the ‘gay panic’ defence in New South Wales was introduced today and
is expected to be voted on in the coming days.

gay people are not criminals.
Cardinal Peter Turkson also called for the repeal of lifetime jail sentences for people
who are gay.
Maryland's State Senate passed the Fairness for All Act yesterday, outlawing discrimination
based on gender identity or expression.
Following passage through the House of Delegates today, the bill will go before the governor
for final approval.
And finally, Olympic diver, Tom Daley has been voted an ‘Inspiration in Sport’ in
a British poll.
The award was part of an event aimed at celebrating the achievements of young people in the UK.
