Working with Shared References in Your RefWorks Account
If you are logged in to your RefWorks account
And you follow a Share link
The Share appears in your own list of folders.
The Share icon distinguishes it from your folders.
Also note that it's name appears in blue text instead of orange.
If you see a little triangle on the Share icon
That means it contains subfolders you can view.
Click the View button to see the full details of a reference.
At the top you'll find a direct link to the reference.
Next to the social network sharing buttons.
If attachment sharing is enabled
You can view and download file attachments like these.
If the Share owner has enabled commenting
Scroll to the bottom to view comments others have added
Or post your own comments.
Note that you cannot edit someone else's shared references.
Nor can you add or remove references from their Share.
But you can save copies of shared references to your own account.
Just select the references you want.
Then click the Save button.
The references go into your Last Imported Folder.
You can add references from a Share to My List
Then you can create a bibliography, print, or export the references.
When you add a Share to your account
It appears both under the Organize & Share Folders tab
And in the Folder list on the right.
Right-click on the Share to reveal the actions you can take.
The Search menu allows you to access any RSS feeds
The owner of the share makes available
To view the Author, Descriptor, or Periodical indexes
Or to conduct an Advanced Search within the share.
There are also options for creating bibliographies
Exporting
And viewing the Shared Area here.
You can view the Share's RSS feed
And email the owner of the share
If these options are enabled by the share owner.
This is the link to the Share.
You can rename the Share if you like.
And you can click Remove Share to remove it from your account.
