- Thank you so much Simone and thank you to BET.
In a moment of deep despair and betrayal
by many people who look like me,
one woman's Facebook post harnessed the collective outrage
of millions, including many who had yet to realize
the full potential of their own power.
- And so five million people all over the world
answered the call for an inter-sectional movement
that stands up for the human rights of all people.
It was painful, it was powerful, but most of all
it was transformational.
- You best to believe that this movement was around
before Twitter and Facebook and together we believe
that the real work happens in local communities
as we build power.
We believe those closest to the pain are closest
to the solution.

- In 2018, historic moments won't cut it.
It is incumbent upon us that we not only Tweet about it
but that we be about it. - That's right.

- We must put our boots on the ground
and take our power to the polls.
Brothers and sisters we must vote like our lives
depend on it.

When we organize together, we vote together.
When we vote together, we build together.
And when we build together, we win together.
