Welcome to the Northwest Mississippi Community College Library tutorial on Freading. Freading
is an eBook service that has a collection of approximately 20,000 titles, which are
free for you to download on your computer or to be used with your mobile app for your
iPhone, iPad, and Android. In order to access Freading as a Northwest student, you need
to log in, using your Northwest username, card number, and your Northwest password as
your PIN. After logging in, you'll see information regarding your account in the upper right
hand corner. You'll have an allotment of tokens which you can redeem for eBook downloads.
Here it says that I have zero for 23 which means that I have used 0 tokens this week
and I have 23 tokens remaining. Different books cost different token amounts. The token
amounts required for a book is labeled clearly on the book display. Unused tokens roll over
to the following week. Every four weeks unused tokens expire. You get five tokens per week
and can keep your book for 14 days. If you need to renew it, you will have to use 1 more
token to do so. There are several ways to look for books that you might be interested
in. Featured books will automatically be shown. But you can also browse for top downloads,
or new arrivals. Also, if you click the category section, you will have many options or subjects
to choose from. Now, as shown as in the yellow strip at the top the page, you must install
Adobe Digital Editions before you can download a book for the first time you use Freading.
Go to the software download button, follow directions on the next page from there, and
start enjoying your free reading app.
