Inkredible Rebranding is a rebranding specialist and we're graphic designers and so we really
focus on empowering businesses through their brand, bringing brand clarity to their communication.
And so, as part of that of course, we have an enormous appetite for everything digital.
We're a business of about nine to ten people, depending on how our business is travelling,
which consists of graphic designers, account managers and administration people. All of
them use internet, particularly the graphic designers, we're downloading images, we're
dealing with stock libraries and we're uploading artwork to both our clients and printers on
a daily basis. So if we're not connected to the internet, we don't even have the basic
tools of our trade and so it's very important for us to have really strong broadband requirement.
However, these days, everything is digital delivery, so to get a press-ad to the Age
or to Sydney Morning Herald or the Telegraph, we've now have to do a digital delivery service,
so if we don't have the internet, we have major issues. What the MyBroadband service
was able to show me, I guess, was, it was able firstly to pinpoint where I was in the
area, it showed me where I was being served from, in other words the exchange that services
us, and it also shows us the sort of speeds we're capable of getting at the moment. Of
course, at the moment, it shows that our speeds are at the lowest possible end of that spectrum.
I guess my feelings on the policy to roll out the NBN is very positive because from
a business perspective, businesses their lifeblood is their website and the internet. We wouldn't
have a business if we didn't have fast broadband, and I feel that business too, have a really
strong appetite for fast broadband and that's not withstanding, I guess, the public have
requirements, however, businesses are the ones that will utilise them to it's full advantage.
The speeds in our area vary enormously. Where we are at the moment, we couldn't actually
get adequate ADSL coverage, we couldn't even get that. So what we opted for is a provider
in the park who provided a wireless service, we currently have a balanced 10 megabyte solution
and that provides us with an adequate service, however, the NBN would be far superior to
that and it would be something we'd be jumping on that as soon as we've got the option.
