Take your water and sponge and make sure your sponge has a good deal of water in it. Also,
make sure that your paper towels are standing by, in case there's any type of flow onto
your desk or other surface. What we're going to start doing is wetting the picture. I know
you've been waiting on this time for things to dry, what can I say? Now that the media
is dry, we actually want to make it wet with water. So, keep applying water as needed and
you're going to notice that the picture is going to start showing through, see some of
these darker areas are already appearing? That's fine, that's normal, that's what we
want. So, going from top to bottom, we're putting this moisture in here and start lightly
scrubbing with the smooth side of your sponge because this will help work it more into the
paper fibers and this is all prepping the stage, for when we're going to turn to a more
of our heavy scrubbing next. I also like to alternate rubbing the water in with both vertical
and horizontal strokes. At the same time, if you start noticing water running at bottom,
you have enough water on here. You don't necessarily want to soak it, you just want it to be nice
and permeated with water, which will prep you for the scrubbing.
