We’re talking about how to do APA style headings in your paper.
Notice this is the same paper
And this paper title here is not included in the levels of APA headings
On page 62 in your APA manual,
You will see levels of headings—
Those are the ones that we need to follow.
So if I wanted to insert the heading called Introduction here
I have two ways to do it.
I can come up here to my Style Bar and click on Heading 1
Now this will only work if you have used the template to start this file.
This has been changed by the template.
So if I click on that, it immediately centers
And if I start typing, notice that it is also bolded
That is the correct APA format
If I press ENTER, I can go ahead and start typing
And my text is the way it should be
Now…if I wanted to do that using a keystroke
I could also go CTRL+ALT+1 and I’ll call this section History
So you have two different ways to do this.
When I press ENTER I can again start typing my text
And it’s fine
If I wanted to do a Heading Level 2, same thing.
I can come up here and I can do a Heading Level 2…
(yeah, I can spell Ancient!) There we go!
So there’s Ancient History.
Press ENTER
And I can start typing.
If I wanted to use a keystroke, I could go CTRL+ALT+2
And give it another one
And start typing after I press ENTER
That’s the basics!
Now remember—you can also download
Printed instructions for how to do this
And there is a chart in that paper that shows you
How to do all of the keystrokes if you like.
The next video we’ll talk about doing quotes.
