Hi, my name's Lee Perkins. I'm a physical therapist and founder of HandsOnRemedy.com.
Today I'm going to talk about Biceps Tendonitis and why you should consider physical therapy
as your first option in the healing process. Biceps Tendonitis, also known as a Bicep Strain
or Tear, occurs when the tendon of the biceps gets overstretched and inflamed. The bicep
muscle extends from your shoulder to your elbow and it's responsible for flexing both
of those joints. So when inflamed, it can affect either your shoulder or elbow, and
depending on how severe it is, you might find it difficult to perform overhead movements
and lifting activities. Biceps Tendonitis can be extremely painful making it challenging
to perform even the most basic activities during the day; like getting dressed in the
morning or carrying a bag and even brushing your teeth can be difficult.
With early Physical Therapy treatment, you can maximize your function quickly and cost
effectively. On the first visit, your Physical Therapist will perform differential diagnostic
testing to determine your exact condition. You should then expect a hands-on treatment
incorporating specialized techniques to help get the results you need. Your therapist will
also provide a home exercise program specific to your injury and the training to perform
those exercises correctly. Our goal as therapists is the same as yours; heal quickly and heal
permanently. The information you see on our website and this video should NOT be used
to determine your own condition. You should seek medical advice from a qualified professional
first. Find your Physical Therapist now at HandsOnRemedy.com, and best wishes for a speedy
recovery.
