On behalf of Expert Village, my name is Craig Morrell, I'm with Landscape Restorations in
Miami, Florida. We're here at Palm Hammock Orchid Estate in Miami, Florida, talking about
basic gardening. The title of this video section is planning ahead and this is one of the very
most important issues in all of gardening, is to think about what's going to happen to
that garden section as it matures. And here's a great example. We've got a terrific idea
for planting here a Begonias, Yellow Shrimp Plants, Crotons and Aralias, except this Jatropha
above me has gotten way too tall for this section. This is a plant that you now have
to invest some time and effort and money into getting it pruned to bring it back down so
that the entire garden section is in scale. So here's a good example so that if we had
planned ahead we might have used a Dwarf Jatropha to get the job done. So planning ahead can
make a big difference in how well you succeed with your garden. And if you're happy with
your garden, it'll show the effort.
