(Dan:) Graphic Design is basically a program where you learn how to layout
and design anything from brochures to possibly Web sites to magazine articles.
(Marion:) There's lab time, plenty of time to work on projects.
The projects are realistic to the real world.
You definitely need a sharp eye and attention to detail.
You need to like art and working hard and meeting deadlines.
(Dan:) There's a lot of stuff to do in graphic design
but it's also a fun environment with your teachers.
They actually came from the field; they actually were in the graphic design field working
for companies before they taught us.
(Marion:) The technical college graphic design program offers a co-op as part of the program.
You get to work in the field, test out a job, and the experience is good
because when you actually are at that co-op, you find out that what you're learning
at the technical college in your program is right on track
for what you need in the work force.
