This is a video about my friend Jamie Brown.
In spite of enduring many surguries he never gives up. He has the most perserverence of anyone I know.
I'm Jamie Brown's dad
When Jamie was a little baby we found out he had hydrocephalus
Being disabled myself I never put a limitation on what he could do in life
Therefore when he was older we always encouraged him to do what he felt comfortable doing
But generally with people who have this type of disability
People will set limits and say he will never be able to walk or talk or do this or that
We never said that nor did we allow him to understand that nor did we believe it ourselves
So we always promoted him to do things
So as he got older he was able to ride a bicycle and do a lot.
He has had a lot of complications throughout the years
But one this he enjoys doing is lifting weights
He loves Arnold Schwarzenegger. He would love to have a cappuccino with him. (ha ha)
Hi Jay Cuttler err I mean Jamie. I always get you guys confused.
Have a good workout
(WOW, look at those guns!)
47...48...49...50
I love lifting weights.
Every time I lift weights I try to imagine myself as Arnold...22 inch bicepts
Never give up. Always keep going. Can't do it, you can always do it. Never give up.
(Not bad)
(Getting there)
(Move over competition)
I'm Jamies mom. Jamie was born with hydrocephalus.
He has had a lot of surguries, a lot of shunt revisions, and infections.
So in my way of thinking the last thing he would want is more pain
Yet he really enjoys working out and we call his bedroom the house of pain.
This is the door of Jamie's room.
And these are some posters on the walls of Jamie's room
Jamie hopes to see Arnold at the Arnold Classic in Ohio this year.
Hi, I'm Jamie's uncle Paul
Jamie is a very special nephew to me.
We have been close for many years and he has taught me many lessons. Especially about being strong.
Jamie is a very passionate young man and for many years he has admired Mr. Schwarzenegger.
I know he would love to have a cup of cappuccino with him at Tim Hortons some day. That would be a dream come true for him.
I'm at my dad's campsite. Sometimes I like to get some fresh air and pump some iron.
I like to keep going till my arms feel like they're... they're uh ..they're all hard.. ha ha.
One of the things I like to do is bend frying pans.
Don't let me into your kitchen...ha ha
Sylvester Stalone quoted...But it ain't about how hard you hit...
It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward
How much you can take and keep moving forward
That's how winning is done!
