Digital performer is a product of the Mark of the Unicorn Company, and I am in no way
associated with Mark of the Unicorn. Okay in this sequence we're going to talk about
layering. Layering is when you're adding extra parts that are pretty similar or harmonies
or layering guitars or layering synth parts for thickness and texturing. In this example
here I'm going to give you, it's just some vocal work that I did on one of my on one
of my songs. So I'm going to take you through this tutorial and find out the power of layering.
Ok on this passage here we're going to work with some layering on some vocals. Here I
have this little passage set up here within a song, and I'll go ahead and zoom in on it
a little more. Here we go, now we're looking at the files, the audio files. Here's the
layers right here, the harmony altro box, the basically the the combined layers that
I put in there and here's the harmony, a high harmony. So we'll go ahead and play the passage
without the harmony layers. It's just, it's just got a high harmony in there like a scream
out high harmony. Now we'll put the layers in there and listen to the difference, go
ahead and just back this up. Hey it works out pretty good when you have these types
of layers right here, this kind of stuff. They, they it adds so much but that's just
what layering can do for your vocal passages.
