the GAA honey
hello welcome to what the *** I'm Christie
Alonso Matt we're talking about a movie called gimme shelter:
it is not the movie date you are probably hoping
yeah there's a buddy how is the ESN I documentary about mine rights
right documentary about Altamonte 5510
that's the record in each other we're seeing this is a story
based on a true story I about saddam
*** teen pregnant moms I
stars Vanessa Hudgins as a runaway who is running away from her terrible mother
played by rosario Dawson she ends up by trying to
spend time and get help from her father played by Brendan Fraser
I he kinda turned her away things go from bad to worse
as this movie goes off what's what everybody
for example
your mother will not give her consent for you to be here she will never let me
go
no no can leave now I deserve a second chance this movie is batshit crazy
old men and white right-wing pro-life propaganda
chrome brave among other yeah it's that point other than diagram where like
Kirk Cameron bible thumping propaganda meets
teen star looking to prove herself as an adult actress
in the worst way are both things are and as I'm just going to rethink what the
true story
but it but that doesn't even if they even it's been a minute since even if it
is that does not excuse telling it badly which is what this movie does
I do admire but as a hedge in though for the daring company for see her
she's unrecognizable right she's got cheaper on Ubuntu wait for this role
she's got shrapnel interphase like the tribal net cash is just like a boy
I admire her credit for remembering Breakers sliver but not before
this one issue trying so hard it's like a Kids in the Hall scat ***
cried a river that the with an award show scheduled all the clips right
really super does the music swells
this movie goes like is made entirely of oskar clip sketches
you know cuz a good moment to I think the actors in this movie
what to give it their all and then clearly unum maybe they're overdoing it
I think but I think really the problems with this we live in the directing and
why is that
telling its its white no just horror
and look like I get that there are people in this country in this world who
have terrible lives
but you know are you looking to be like twelve years a slave which is a story
about something that
happens to somebody and its awful right but there's moments
that the tone changes and goes up and down there are lighter moments that
moves are lighter moments in schindler's list
not I'm not you have to do that so that are absolutely
so that the horror hits right this one it stays down
the whole time kinda until you get to like the third act
and I felt the biggest you know amongst the problem is Mary
the change in her character is never
oh yeah okay no way into the movie we find out how ocean bonded so much with
the other
*** mothers at the shelter on the right me where did not happen until it
happened on camera
suffocate me spoil it blows a change happened with the other people in her
family
but yeah lol heard my name out of nowhere
like a totally different movie all the sudden as occurring yeah I'm shocking
yeah I think we're getting his movie make everybody nice now
right didn't know there are and clean yeah I wanted to get some dresses from
Manship yeah
governors are you Dawson bless her heart on my paper diapers is working right now
but boy when she put a razor blade into her methods yeah I like both
does and I know it may come to light a close-up
I love the razor tumbling out of her mouth like the dispatch bad I
yeah he had the way there has got to be really hard
nominee I haven't we're going to have to live with that
alive but you're not supposed to know yes now
what I will say you know the only thing that I think this movie has going for it
this I thought that they were hints
that they could have taken what ultimately is supposed to be kinda this
pro-life passage
there's a set up there that I thought that could tell that you at no point
does it would get really preaching about
keep this kid that's the way that God would wanna bike
she just kinda decides which she freaks out she clearly doesn't want to give up
the baby
you know and yes I found that the
the religious aspect of the church stuff wasn't really that overwhelming
now I didn't find it to be a ride in a way onto the Bible on external yeah
many also I'm sorry I don't know if you think it meant I wouldn't even mind
if this movie came out I you know
at again so but against her having an abortion had a bother to have
of two minute conversation even debating it
white here you got you got Brendan Fraser but this is a rather than as a
spoiler
early you know basically saying okay you're a 16-year-old runaway
arm you know put conceivably mentally ill the way the Hutchins is playing her
your girl with no resources no okay
no education no wherewithal whatsoever has been raised by I'm at that addicted
woman
maybe maybe you shouldn't have the baby you're carrying
perhaps a bill aborting it would be a good idea
and okay the movie what's it's not a good idea find that have that
conversation have
some kinda think but no just like she freaked out leave the clinic ban that
the car the problem with this movie is that
vid 100 character as the main character doesn't
ever take charger herself what your home until at last moment
that she finally makes a decision that you see that she's kinda doing something
that she wants to do
for the most part everything just happens to her yeah heading into a
meeting with so much like
an active choices it is a gel yeah I'm gonna get yet whether or not so I
yeah and I'm and also the people who do suggest Ratley that she might
not what to have a child at this point in time um
are depicted as really so listen well being able
thank you location at least them but you know show us why their suggestion is so
terrible because when they say any credit make said
recliner the regime is no agency if perot I I was reminded
oddly enough over I carry in glitter me and then remembered
like makes a decision aiding and *** just happens to her
that's how the judges characters written in this movie yes there's a poster
ok with four do you think this is actually a good thing for T
this is a good PG-thirteen this is a movie for people who already believe
what the movie believes in want to have it reaffirmed it myself and what's
frustrating is
they don't like a literal that he really doesn't Christian movies are like that
nope with the I don't think any thereby putting one yet but good topic change
anybody's mind
they are they exist to make people who already believe with the movie is
preaching
22 feel satisfied that they are having a repeated back many calories in an echo
chamber
that sucks right because you could you could make a movie
with messages that agree with a certain possibly
and make a good movie but I think that there's this you know we see
you hear about filmmakers who do these right week these movies were aimed at a
right-wing audience
and when critics or whoever else complains about them thank our wealth
for politics with no actually at which really sucks right it's as if
it's insulting to that audience there is a I will absolutely admit that I think
we can all agree
that there is a underserved audience in this country a people who
have a certain belief system that maybe big hollywood movies aren't necessarily
appealing to write these massive movies somebody could make
this is one of those movies and white so many of these movies
this one is incompetently may has actually say that audience
as long as you get the feeling right they don't need quality and that's %uh
no i i agree it isn't so I mean I see movies that are but there are insulting
even to the people they're supposed to be accommodated frankly
and yeah I mean if you look back in history from there are filmmakers
who are men of faith and your women of faith in an Hou
imbue that in their film they make Mobley worked the bar tonight are you
they they may be about
I think a religious viewpoint I don't agree with like admired as a piece apart
and these films are just about the message and they don't care about
anything else
so that yet there just is really clunky badly treated badly acted badly written
things but as long as they
you know come in with Jesus in the final quarter
that it would be an Atlas Shrugged in because it's a man like okay fine
people go see cuz that was struck doesn't matter that movie somehow see a
good movie about objectivism
go see The Incredibles that rather no but seriously like that so we'll get it
right
read Atlas Shrugged twice I don't agree with her politics but damn she writes a
page-turner
and you could make those books and the like about that book into the compound
sheezy movies and they just Dame turn them into really cheap
cheesing women's their recycle or the Rings has Christian allegory
all over great and that works and that a good movie know the first time in a
movie night movie yet the line is truly the grass basket with your number I have
is a very low you'll be shocked to learn
go on to relate to my back pocket dropping a deuce
to hiking three cuz i really admire but I had your
trying it to do between this is spring breakers like trying to break out of
that Disney five more that mater
so I've urged the 2.3 it is at 17
other if you want to see the surgeons brief break away from High School
Musical
see spring breakers and go see a movie called ban slam but nobody saw was a
theater's
she's very funny in it guilty
