Well an ideal portfolio would probably consist of
6-15 pieces.
A number concept sketches would be great.
If you've got some good 2D work, some digital painting, that would be good.
If you specifics skills such as character modeling, environment art,
lighting,
animation,
that would all be great as well.
"If I'm a student and I'm making a decision between what to put in
and I've got
10 OK pieces, but I've got 5 really good drawings. You want those 5 right?" I want to see just
those 5 and
really don't care to see the mediocre pieces. "Ok, so" 5 finished pieces would be great. "Quality
over"
Quality definitely trumps quantity
"What about 3D stuff, Do I have to show a lot of 3D stuff, or is that not necessary" 3D is great, would love to see your 3D
just as long as it's your best work
"But is it require?"
It's not required.
"OK, so I can submit a 2D, completely 2D portfolio?"
A complete 2D portfolio
as long as it's good, would get you into FIEA. Because that's
really going to show your abilities
uh... of observations
and detail
and how far you can take a project, a finished look to it.
