Chaplin's grandson is met with ovation in Moscow
Charlie Chaplin's grandson James Thierree, best known for his theatrical performances which blend contemporary circus, mime, dance and music, staged his one-man show "Raoul" at the Mossovet Theater this week.
The show opened the Chekhov International Theatre Festival, which will see 19 shows from 12 different countries brought on stage over the next 8 weeks.
Judging by public's reaction, Thierre managed to conquer the experienced Moscow theatre crowd.
In a few words - it is brilliant.
There are very few plays like this one. It was magic.
The way the actor could capture the audience throughout the whole show was simply amazing. He puts his heart and soul in what he does - something rare nowadays.
The show was full of dynamic vibes and energy, and everything was performed on a very professional level.
The most valuable element for me was the presence of very subtle psychological metaphors relating to our inner life. The spiritual aspects were showed perfectly. These impressions will remain with me for months to come.
It was amazing, truly outstanding. The light show impressed me the most. And, of course, the actor's performance.
It is an actor of genius. He is a versatile performer, resourceful producer. I've never heard such a loud applause. It's a must-visit show.
