Ok, so the most important supply you're going to want on hand is something to transfer your
photocopy onto. Now, this transfer does not work for certain materials. It's not going
to work on metal or any other type of smooth glossy surface. You need something with a
little bit of, you know. Something that the photocopy can dig into. And wood is the best
for transferring a photocopy onto another surface. Be it for a collage, for a sign,
or for whatever else you want to do with your photocopy transfer. Now with your piece of
wood though, you have to keep a couple of things in mind. You don't want the wood to
be too thin. Now I mean this wood is right about, probably about a half inch thick. Right
there abouts. That's fine. I wouldn't go any thinner than that. Because as you are going
to see, the process we're going to use. You're going to have some water, there is also water
in the media. And that will leak through. And I've seen some people who've had too thin
of a wood. They are doing our process and snap the wood breaks in two. That's a big
wasted afternoon for you. So let's avoid that. Make sure your wood is thick. Also make sure
you have a lot of surface space. It depends. This is your canvas so to speak. How big do
you want your sign, or your photocopy transfer to be. That'll definitely, you know, impact
your choice. You can get a lot of the types of wood at various home stores you like. Around
your home you might have some scrap wood lying around. A lot of hardware stores will also
cut it down to your specifications for a small charge. Or maybe they will even throw it in
for free.
