Hi, I'm Melissa Powell with Expert Village. And now we're going to be discussing player
actions. As a player in Texas Holdem, you essentially have five choices that you can
make. You can check. You can bet. You can raise, call or fold. And let?s go over what
all of those mean. Now lets imagine that each player all ready has their two cards. As we
had said before, to the right, my right of the dealer button. The left for the player
is the small blind. And next to them is the big blind. Now in terms of who has the first
action on the table will always be in my clockwise hand, after the last money. So let?s say this
person now has the small blind, this person has the big blind. I go around, all the around
the table to the next possible player that does not have any money on the table. This
is the first player who has the options to do one of the player actions that we discussed.
Bet, check, raise, fold or call. In this case, let?s just say he wants to call. He must call
the equivalent of the big blind. The big blind was two chips remember, so he's also going
to put in two chips. Now let?s say player white doesn't have a great hand. He's going
to say he wants to fold. He'll throw his cards, and I will take them and put them in what
is called the muck. I will muck the cards. Now player black also wants to play. So he's
going to put in once again his two chips. Now player green all ready had the forced
bet, the small blind of half the size of the big blind. If he wants to play which would
be wise considering he's all ready forced to be in for half of the amount, he'll put
in one more bet. Now the big blind has the option at this point to raise. He has the
big blind, but if he wants to put in more, he absolutely can. Let?s say, however, that
he's fine, and he just wants to say he's ok. I tap the table twice, pick up all the chips.
And put them in the pot.
