Polly: Now you’ve also been riding the Masterchef bandwagon, according to ah, your relationship
with Matt Preston
Sue: Tourism Tasmania contacted me and asked me on the umm momentum of this map of Tassie
skirt thing to make a cravat and umm it was supposed to be in secret commercial confidence
and all that sort of stuff, so I, but I said ‘so Matt Preston’s coming to town’.
So sure enough I made this cravat and then when he finally wore it on the show on that
week that was filmed in Tasmania, I, one of my sons photographed that shot on actually
on our TV screen, posted that on Facebook and you know, away it went again. It was just,
it was really very funny, I really loved it. But ah, and then on the strength of that because
Polly had, I’d been to the ah, Polly’s workshop, one on Social Media, and she said
to own the real estate so I signed up for Twitter the very next morning and tweeted
Matt Preston so that I could say I’d done it and then I was astonished he actually replied.
It was like I was a real person so…
Polly: who knew!
Sue: and then the funny thing after that is that because of the way that Twitter works
it seems, umm, you’re invited to follow a whole bunch of things but all these people
follow me and I’ve made two whole tweets.
Polly: Oh Sue Hall, you obviously didn’t listen to my workshop enough if you’ve only
made two tweets!
Sue: It’s like when people send me interesting stuff because of who they recommended that
I follow, so sort of design based people, so I’ve discovered this, you know, people
send me the latest thing in crushed paper lampshades, and you know, that sort of stuff.
It’s just a really very interesting thing without me doing anything so, on it’s own
merits that’s good.
