Hey there Undertoads, time for two of your favorite things! Vampires, I just know you’re
not sick of vampires! They should really make some books or maybe a movie or two about vampires,
when was the last time they did that.... and what you love even more... casual gaming!
That’s right it’s Vampire Saga 3: Break Out, a find the hidden object adventure from
Alawar Games.
Now I haven’t played the first two parts of this “Saga” but from my understanding
there isn’t much plot continuity between them and on a timeline this game is a prequel
to the others, so you can jump right into this latest one without being totally lost.
So you play as Dr. Crow, investigating a strange “break out” that’s buggin’ the people
of Hill Lock your hometown, all while dealing with the grief of losing your daughter. So
grief stricken in fact that he starts seeing visions of her... or she’s a vampire or
ghost or something helping him out... it’s a little unclear as are some other plot points
in the game.
But that doesn’t get in the way of finding hidden objects and solving puzzles. Something
fans of the Vampire Saga series should enjoy. Actually this one is a bit different, you’ll
still zoom into a cluttered picture and have to hunt for stuff, but instead a list you
get pictures of what you’re looking for to put something back together usually and
unveil the object you’re really after. Not really a game changer by any means, but hey
news things can keep things fresh especially in a genre that can be pretty cookie cutter.
There is a pretty creepy vibe throughout the game and as much as I’d hate to admit it
a time or two I jumped at something meant to startle you. Graphically, Break Out looks
a little dated, mostly with the character models, but I’m guessing if this is a game
you’re interested in play, graphics are not high on your list of “Video Game features
I’m concerned about” more than likely you’re more interested in the puzzles and
the hunting, which I’d say is worth checking out if you’re into these kind of games or
the Vampire Saga series. So sink those elongated incisors into the crimson filled jugular of
Vampire Saga 3: Break Out!
