I thought I couldn't do it.
I had no concept that this was something that was possible for me.
So my advice to those people is - just get out and start SOMETHING.
You start something
and you have no idea how that's going to snowball. Just get out there and do it.
Just start getting some exercise - start running sixty seconds.
And that half marathon, you know, it could be just around the corner. For me it was six months.
Six months from not being able to run to the end of the driveway, starting off with sixty seconds
and six months later I was running a half marathon.
I had no idea that that's what I was capable of. None whatsoever.
It just slowly builds. You do one thing,
you put these little goals into place... and then you achieve that one, then all of a sudden,
you want to move up to the next level and do something else.
That little thing seems feasible, this BIG thing might not
but... one step at a time... and you'll get to that
half marathon goal. Don't think now
that a half marathon is something that you can do.
You may not think that. Think now about what you CAN do.
What you're capable of doing now. And get out and do that, because THEN what happens is you're capable of one step more
and one step more after that. And before you know it, you will be ready
to run a half marathon.
And who knows what else?
