Welcome to the community of the Annex.
The intersection of Yonge Street and Bloor Street is alive with tourists, professionals,
families and shoppers all there to enjoy the range of retail and dining the area offers.
This southeast corner is also where Yorkville is located, one of Canada's most prestigious
shopping districts.
On Bloor Street West is Holt Renfrew as well as other designer retailers.
In 2008 Bloor Street was named the 7th most expensive shopping street in the world by
Fortune Magazine.
The larger flagship stores are along the major roads: Bloor, Bay and Avenue Road, while the
smaller boutiques and showrooms are located along Cumberland Street, Hazelton Lanes and
Yorkville Avenue.
The area has a high volume of foot traffic, as well as street performers that draw passersby
to take a pause from their shopping.
High above the two storey retail inside Yorkville are a number of large luxury condominiums.
The Shops at Hazelton Lanes include designer brands from around the world and Whole Foods
that serves are the areas local grocery store.
The Hazelton Hotel allows tourists to stay, shop and dine all in Yorkville.
The Park Hyatt Toronto and the Intercontinental Toronto are on Bloor, across from the Royal
Ontario Museum.
This area benefits from the Bloor-Danforth subway line running the south border of the
area, from Bloor-Yonge interchange station to Christie subway station.
At the south-west corner is Christie Pits Park.
At Dupont and Christie, the northwest boundary, are a number of high-rise residences and a
Loblaws for the residents.
The tree-lined roads off Dupont shelter semi-detached homes from the traffic.
Thank you for viewing the community of the Annex.
