Welcome to this week's Golfbidder Tech Talk where yet again it was proven in the bag of
Henrik Stenson at The Wyndham Championship that newer is not necessarily better.
The Swede has been using the same Callaway Legacy Black irons since 2013 and his Cally
Diablo Octane 3 wood is now the stuff of legend! That along with his XR16 driving saw Henrik
come in at T8 in fairways hit whilst averaging 294 yards making it, well an EPIC performance
off the tee.
A quick word too for Ollie Schniederjans' who finished second after a late putter change
to a Toulon Madison saw him gain a whopping 7.299 Strokes putting on the field.
Switching to Titleist and their still as yet prototype 718 irons are currying favour with
the guys on Tour with increasing numbers switching into the AP2 version. Watch out for those
coming soon on Golfbidder.com
Another trend we are seeing on Tour is that more and more Callaway Great Big Bertha driver
users are asking the guys on the Tour truck to stick in a second weight in the sliding
channel. The current retail version features one weight but with Harris English, Harold
Varner and Kevin Kisner (who switched from a M2) all now using the custom Great Big Bertha
with two weights it looks logical that this will also come to market pretty soon.
