The song is called "Protesto" and we wanted to make it
with a Russian aesthetic, but we're in a Tropical Country,
so how could we do it?
First, We shot Blubell on a studio using a Chroma key background
then we shot some images downtown Sao Paulo
and we applied snow on the ground and on the walls.
There's a layer of digital snow falling over Blubell.
All that was made on a 3D environment so we could add some perspective.
At last, we made the color correction.
We cooled the color a little to add a winter aspect.
We must have a great discipline to make this kind of work.
When I shot her on the studio
I took note of all the camera angles, height, lens, focal length
so I could reproduce all these data when shooting the backgrounds
at downtown Sao Paulo so they could perfectly match.
In order for the effect to work, we had to use four well drafted costumes,
a makeup that evolved with the costumes...
A very important thing in order to integrate the image
is to justify all the lights.
For instance, on this scene where there's a backlight on this side
we intensified the light coming from the window in the back.
To help with the aesthetic, I called Marcos Sachs
who is a visual artist and an art director
and he made some beautiful Russian billboards
using Blubell pictures
and some parts of the lyrics written in Russian.
There's also a coincidence that the end of the song
is a sort of a polka.
