How to Make a Still. You can assemble a still from common components found in most hardware
stores. You will need Steel 5-gal. pressure cooker Stove 2" diameter copper
tubing Drill Epoxy Tin can ¼" copper tubing Kitchen sink Large pot Wash
and welding torch (optional). Step 1. Set the 5-gallon steel pressure cooker on your
stove. Step 2. Cut a 3 to 5 foot length of 2-inch diameter copper tubing. Step 3. Drill
a hole in the pressure cooker lid large enough to insert the pipe, insert one end of the
copper pipe, and seal it in the hole with epoxy. You can weld the components together
instead of using epoxy. Step 4. Cap the top of the pipe with a tin can, using epoxy to
seal the can. Step 5. Drill a hole in the side of the pipe and insert one end of a convenient
length of coiled, ¼-inch copper tubing. This is your condenser coil. Seal the condenser
in the pipe with epoxy. The condenser should be long enough to reach from the stove to
your kitchen sink, and extend beyond the sink to the floor. Step 6. Stretch the condenser
to the sink and bend a length of it into the sink. Then fill the sink with cold water.
Extend the end of the coil to a pot on your floor to catch the condensation. Step 7. Add
your wash to the cooker and heat it to 78 degrees Celsius. The condensation that flows
through the condenser coil is distilled. Did you know In 2009, a North Carolina woman was
charged with selling moonshine out of her daycare center.
