Hey, it's Bauer. What you're looking at here is the Gateway P6312
or the sixty-three twelve, or the six thousand three hundred and twelve,
I guess you can put that any way you want to.
But it is a monster, giant bigscreen laptop, and it looks great, actually.
It's Pentium dual-core T2370 that's 1.73 GHz dual-core Pentium processor on this laptop.
It's got one gigabyte of DDR2 RAM built right into it,
it also has a one sixty gigabyte hard drive.
But the main feature on this laptop is this giant seventeen inch 1440 by 900 display
that you're going to see on this laptop, and it looks absolutely spectacular.
It's glossy and it's bright and things look really really great on this screen.
If you were looking for something with a little bit of a bigger screen,
the fifteen inches or thirteen inches are all a little bit too small for you,
have a look at this, 'cause it looks absolutely amazing.
It's got the GMA X3100 graphics built into it so it does not have discreet graphics,
it is on board, it is intel, so it's not a gaming computer,
but it will, like I say, it'll run all the games that don't require intensive 3D processing.
So anything you have like that, this'll be just fine.
It does have a very nice media panel on the top, this'll make for a great media machine actually,
great for using windows media center.
It comes with the Vista Home Premium preinstalled.
all these quicklaunch buttons up here: this is actually the windows hotstart button,
which you can program to do anything you want,
all through here are your media controls, so you can quickly get to your music, your DVD
and control all of yor stuff.
Of course the ever-handy "mute" button right there
We've all been to those situations where your computer starts blaring at you
in the middle of the night, and it makes you angry,
and you can very easily turn it off there.
It has a capacative touch sensitive volume controller right here,
as you can see it light up as I do this.
The volume changes as you slide your finger across this touch strip here,
very nice built in stereo speakers,
Also down here is your touch pad with vertical scroll, right here,
to scroll through your webpags you simply have to drag your finger along the side of the touch pad
and it will scroll through your documents or your webpages.
It does have two buttons there.
On the front is a switch that will turn your wireless on and off, right here.
This is great for saving battery life.
If you're soemwhere where you do not have a wireless connection,
it can save a lot of battery life, by just turning off your wireless connection.
And that can be very very handy.
On the side, here's what you're going to find on this particular laptop,
you've got your headphone port and a microphone port.
Now, this headphone port also does S/PDIF, or S-P-D-I-F, however you want to say that,
but it does have a digital out on that connecter, so that you can hook this up to do surround sound.
It has a USB port on the side here, your ethernet is right here
and your VGA port is also on the side.
Now, on the back you're going to find your powerport right here,
there we go, power right there, and of course your 56K modem is located right here
Of course, as I like to say, when you're stuck in the nineties and you don't have any internet,
you can connect through that.
Also over here, I forgot to show you this:
There is a 5-in-1 reader built into this laptop as well,
right here is where you're going to find that.
It does do SD, it does memory stick, does memory stick pro, MMC,
and I believe it also does XD as well.
So your'e going to find that right there on the side.
On the other side, you're going to find a couple more USB ports,
for all of your connecting needs, right here, two more,
and also your DVD burner.
Now, this DVD burner is cool, 'cause, like a lot of the gateways,
it does have that label flash built in,
you know what a pain it is to make DVDRs or CDRs look nice, right?
I mean, every time you have to either scribble with them with a sharpie
or you have to use a horrible printout and try to stick it on there, right?
This will take care of it for you, you actually flip it over and it will burn
images and text onto the top of your DVDs.
Of course, you need label flash DVDs in order to do that,
but either way, you're still going to be able to create very, very nice looking labels
for your burned discs, with this particular laptop.
Now, it does have A, B and G wireless built into it
and it weighs a not very light 8.39 lbs, but, of course, it is a giant bigscreen laptop
so it would be quite the feat if it weighed any less than that.
But actually it doesn't feel that heavy.
When you pick it up it actually doesn't feel like an extraordinarily heavy laptop.
It feels, very, kind of light, actually, sitting here with it right now.
One of the other things thats' nice about this, is it's got a nice color,
it's not one of those, it's not black and it's not loud,
It's just kind of got a very, very nice sort of graphite silver color.
It's a very, very nice looking laptop.
So, if you're looking for just kind of a basic, solid laptop
that has a nice, big screen,
this is definitely the one that you should be having a look at.
One gigabyte DDR2 RAM, it's got that dual core pentium processor built into it,
and a 160 GB hard drive,
but of course it's got that nice high res, ''17 1440 by 900 screen,
it looks good in just about any situation for sure
So go check it out. If you're looking for, like, a nice, basic bigscreen laptop,
this is a good one.
