The Snow Village
We have a yurt and a snow Village, with 5 igloos
and to talk about it, here is Daniel.
What is a yurt?
It is called a yurt because it looks like the wooden constructions
that are built in the Northern regions, with a central fireplace.
What can we eat in the yurt?
Cheese fondue, veal sausages, schublig, hot dog, pizza and all kind of drinks.
Our specialities: cheese fondue, cheese raclette and lapp-style salmon.
Salmon is cooked on the wood fire served with an excellent white sauce, rice and salad.
It is excellent !
Is picnic allowed?
The picnic is authorized for the Tobogganing Park's clients
based on available space.
Or ... celebrate a birthday?
Of course, we can organize birthdays. The guests can bring their own cake
and buy their drinks at the snack bar.
Tell us about those famous igloos.
The igloos are built this way: we use balloons full of air
we cover them with a lot of snow, about 1 to 1,5 meter.
Once it is nice and solid, after a cold night,
we take the balloons out and we have our interior space.
It is cold in the igloos?
Of course, it is a bit cold. It is about 0 to -1°C.
When there are a lot of people inside, temperature goes up to 1 or 2 °C.
Reindeer skins and blankets are available.
If you wear warm clothes, you can easily stay 1 to 1.5 hour to eat cheese fondue.
The cheese fondue and the people themselves heat the atmosphere.
Air extractors at the top of the igloos
let the warmth out and maintain a correct temperature.
With this heat, is there a risk that the igloos fall down?
No, the igloos won't fall down on the guests.
They slowly melt with the outside temperature
but before May there is no risk that the igloos will melt
quickly and fall down on people.
How many guests can they accommodate?
They accommodate up to 150 people.
There are 3 small igloos with a capacity of 20 people each
and the bar igloo for 30 to 50 people.
What can we eat in the igloos?
You can eat cheese fondue, and dried meats.
The dessert is meringues with double cream.
