This video will cover the Ohio Learn to Earn program, and give you information about
how to post your training opportunities on OhioMeansJobs.
From the home page of OhioMeansJobs.com, you can click on Ohio Learn to Earn
in the Initiatives section to the right of the page.
This will take you to the Ohio Learn to Earn home page, where you can find out about
eligibility and additional program information.
You can also click on the employer site over here to the left
and go down to the scrolling marquee at the bottom.
Once the employer page has loaded you'll notice down at the bottom the
scrolling marquee that has all kinds of information regarding different employer
programs. There's the Ohio Learn to Earn program. You can click on the
program which will then give you just you information, as well as a link to the
Ohio Learn to Earn page.
Next we will cover how to post your training opportunity to OhioMeansJobs.
From the employer home page or the main home page you click on Post Jobs, Internships
Training Opportunity, more.
This page has already been pre-populated
for this video.
You can come through the page
and the first thing you need to fill out is the email address. This e-mail address
should be a personal work email address for the person who will be managing the
training opportunity, not a general human resources email address.
Next is the employer's name.
And then the job titles that you'll be interested in training for and then when
you would like your training opportunity to post
and when you would like for it to close out.
And next is the job type. In order to post this as a training opportunity,
select training opportunity from the drop-down list,
and you'll see that this fields change. Now we have the employer contact's first name,
the employer contact's last name,
and then their phone number.
Following is then, "Is this a green job?"
Next is the Desired Skills and Duties field.
This is where you can put in information about the position that you're going to
train for.
As you work with your local workforce professional,
they will help you develop an approved plan for training. And then the salary
you can delete this entirely, and then click outside the box, and you'll see it just goes
blank.
Next is the education level, if there is a minimum education level that you require
in order to train for this position.
Licences and certifications that you may require.
And then we go onto the work days and workshifts.
These pertain to when the training opportunity will take place.
The next section is the worksite zip code.
And as you'll see here, once we put in a worksite zip code, this automatically populates.
You can choose from whichever city or town it may be within the worksite zip code.
And that's where these training opportunities will take place.
And as you'll see at the bottom the contact information becomes pre-populated
with the Office of Local Operations Workforce Specialist who was assigned to cover
that area.
Once you are satisfied with the information,
click save,
and then the page will load.
You want to make sure
that you take a screen capture
or print a hard copy of this page so you have record of
the job post/training opportunity expiration date and the job post/
training opportunity number for your own reference.
Once you have posted your job training opportunity it will be reviewed by the
Office of Local Operations Workforce Specialist assigned to the area where
the worksite is.
The process of filling out the paperwork and verifying your training opportunity
can take up to two to three weeks.
By the time that is completed,
the Local Operations Workforce Specialist
will send you an email.
In that email, there will be a link to verify your training opportunity.
Once you have clicked that link, verify the information on the page that loads, and click save
at the bottom. At that point, your training opportunity will be searchable
on OhioMeansJobs.com
within four to six hours.
This concludes the training presentation. If you have any questions please contact us at
