-A lot of people mistakenly believe
that prostitution is legal throughout the state of Nevada.
And that's true, except in the two counties where
most people go, Clark County, which
is where Las Vegas is located, and Washoe County,
which is where Reno is located.
NRS section 201.300 outlaws pandering,
commonly known as pimping, in the state of Nevada.
And what pandering is, is encouraging or forcing
someone to engage in the exchange of sex
for something of value.
It's important to note that to convict someone of pandering,
the state doesn't have to prove that sex actually occurred,
or that money was exchanged.
Merely facilitating a situation where someone is arranging
to exchange money in exchange for sex
would be sufficient to constitute
the commission of pandering if proven
beyond a reasonable doubt.
