Hello everyone Michael here with the daily note 2 and 3 YouTube channel and today I want
to show you a feature that you will not be able to see unless you have a dock
doesn't have to be a smart dock like this one you could just have a regular desktop
dock that you've bought for any galaxy device so let's see what happens when you plug in
the galaxy note 3 onto this dock so you could see that when you put your galaxy
note 3 on the dock it fires up a small app that you cannot fire separately called the
desk clock so let's quickly go through the feature that's available to you when you dock
your device so this icon here it just controls whether
you're going to use the speaker on the galaxy note 3 or if you're going to use the minijack
the line out that's available on the dock now I must mention for this line out to work
you have the other end of this USB cable to your AC power if you power to your desktop
USB I believe it will not have enough power to power up the line out here even though
other functions seems to work fine if you're connected to your USB on your computer so
let's keep going you could see that you have a calendar when you on a specific date at
this opens up S planner to that date and you could see that numbers like 8 they
have a little symbol attached to them it just means that you have something scheduled
for that date you could see the weather here
next to could see that you have shortcuts your apps on the bottom
you can edit those apps going to menu edit shortcuts and then when
you slide it let's just add that one and then you could
just slide it over to use any additional apps that you've added
you could also just hide it completely maybe don't need any apps and you want to make a
little bit more cleaner looking and speaking of which if you want to go further on that
you could go to menu and settings and could even hide the status bar
you could see that the status bar goes away although I think the status bar is useful
a lot of apps give you notifications when you get messages
let's see what else is in the settings that's bring back the status bar
you could change your wallpaper to anything in your gallery
so let's select a picture that I took yesterday need to crop it first
so there we go let's look at other settings that were there
you can disable the calendar completely maybe you just want to clock there and let's see
the last thing and you can turn off the weather here is just your regular dock settings that
is accessible to you just through your configuration menu and if you leave it alone for about two
minutes so you could see that the background is completely
black and if you had the weather widget on it show up there and it doesn't turn off automatically
just stays this way it'll move around the time so you don't have to worry about screen
burn in it's just meant to be something like a clock next your bedside and when you tap
on it because you brings you back to the screen and last but not least this button on the
top right-hand corner it just closes the desk clock app so anyway
that's all I wanted to show you today it is a feature that actually common amongst most
galaxy devices except the galaxy note 2 but you could still get the desk clock running
on here I'll show you that in another video so anyway you if you like this feature just
go buy yourself a dock I believe regular desktop docks are not that expenses whereas the smart
dock is fairly expensive but it is because the smart dock has many other features such
as HDMI out and I'll do a full video on the galaxy note 3 on the smart dock in another
video so anyway for more videos on the galaxy note 2 and 3 make sure he checked my YouTube
channel and subscribe for more upcoming videos once again thank you for watching
