What is Chinese green tea? It's actually a lot more fun than Japanese green tea. In my
experience. Because Chinese green tea comes in a wide variety of shapes, sizes and colors.
If you look at these samples I have here, you have a tea that's rolled into small little
pellets and when you brew it, it explodes like gunpowder, that's why this tea is called
gunpowder. You have another tea, look here, look how different these shapes are. Small
and large. This is a jasmine green actually you don't see the jasmine blossoms because
it's the way that it's been scented is different then adding just the tea, the flower, what
they do is they take it out after it's been scented. This is one of the most popular Japanese
green tea as well. And this is called an anji green. And this is a jasmine pearl. Now jasmine
pearls are almost the same as jasmine green tea in that it has a jasmine aroma but the
great part about jasmine pearl is only a few pellets will make a great amount of tea. This
much tea will brew you about a full sixteen ounce cup of tea. And the dragon, sorry ,
I meant the dragon well is one of the most famous tea in China and it's grown in the
Hung-so province. All these teas have very different characteristics, so when you are
looking at Chinese green tea be careful of the shapes. Because the shapes tell you a
lot, if it's rolled into small pellets you are expecting a stronger cup of tea. That's
a lot, maybe a bit more astringent. If you want a briskier flavor that's light and calming,
you want to go with a full leaf tea, like such that has not yet been rolled.
