Hi, my name is Matt Cail and on behalf of Expert Village I am going to show you how
to make a princess costume. Alright you have your dress and you are excited. The dress
looks great. It's a nice period piece. It's going to look wonderful on you. And you are
ready just to hop on in and start getting dressed up. Stop. This is a very common mistake
to make on any type of intricate costume which is both difficult to get into and out of.
Dresses especially the more complicated period pieces often times are very hard for you to
get around your body to then put on and get ready to go out. So don't do that just yet.
Once more when you put on the dress sometimes it will limit your motion you may not be able
to touch your toes. If you can even normally you may not be able to have a full range of
movement to do things like make up your hair, do makeup. The dress might get into the way.
You could get makeup on it if there is a bigger collar that is coming up. If short you don't
want to put on the costume. This isn't like a situation where the costume is going to
come up to the top of your neck and everything is going to be fine. No, to the contrary it
is really going to inhibit potentially your motions and really what you are going to be
able to do. That is going to be difficult enough when you have the costume on. It is
sort of a trade off with a really nice dress again like on your wedding day it looks great
but it can be a little hard to move around in. That's okay but you don't have to start
having those problems just yet.
