I am Dr. T. K. Roy, speaking on behalf of Expert Video. There are different systems
for, of poultry houses. Now one is a different layer house where the bars are maintained
on the floor and, on the cemented floor, there they put some sawdust, some, you know, chopped
bedding straw, some chopped wheat straw, some, even the rice husk. I mean, either of these.
Rice husk can be used as a litter, what you call the bedding. Now, a small bird, about
one month of age, as a rule of thumb, I tell you, uh, the age of the barn, I mean, the
months old. I mean, if it is one month old, you give a depth of one inches straw. If they're
two months old, you give it the two inch of straw. If they're three months old, you give
them three inches, until they're six months old, when you give them six inches of straw
as bedding, on the floor. We all know it is not necessary to give any, you know, any more
depth for the barns. So, on the deep litter system, an adult barn will require about six
square feet of space. Thank you very much.
