I got this question in email and she
writes "how do I push myself to see the
returns in 30 days while still building
my motivation to push and maintain and
keep going?"
What she's basically asking here is "how do
I stay motivated to actually reach my
goals?" I know that I want to do this. I
know I want to work out and I want to
lose fat. I want to get into better shape.
How do I keep the motivation? So there
are 2 things to understand here. First
of all, motivation doesn't last.
I made a full video on this. You can't rely
on motivation. You have to build momentum.
To understand that just because you feel
like working out now and you're excited
about it,
that feeling is probably not going to
last and if you give in to that feeling
and give in to that emotion, and you give up,
then you're never going to build true
motivation and you're never going to
reach your goals.
The next thing is once you understand
that, build a plan.
Don't leave anything to chance. If you
know that you need to work out three times
per week and you need to eat better and
you need to eat less fast food,
make sure you have a plan to do that. So
put it in your calendar. Know when you're
going to train. Know when you're going to
eat right. Know how your meals are going
to be planned out. Make sure you have all
that laid out, because if you just say "oh
I'm going to go to the gym this week," you
haven't defined it. You don't know what
days you're going. You don't have a plan
to follow. If you go into the gym and you
look around and you're not sure what to
do, then you're probably not going to go
back the next few days because you were
overwhelmed or intimidated. So if you
need a workout plan, get a workout plan.
Have something in stone. Put in your
calendar. Know what you're doing and most
important, understand that it's not
always going to be easy but pushing
yourself is worth it.
You're most likely not going to regret
if you worked out three times a week
over the next four weeks. You're not
going to look back in that month and say
"oh I hate it that I went to the gym
three days a week like I promised myself."
You're most likely gonna hate it if you
look back and say "you know I really
regret that I made this goal and I went
to the gym twice the first week and then
I just gave up on the second week and if
I just have stuck to it, I would've felt way
better about it. So remember, motivation
doesn't last. Make sure you watch my
video
on momentum. Thank you so much for
watching. Creating videos like this is a
lot of fun but it also takes a lot of
time. So I would appreciate if you would
share with your friends and hit that

on the next episode of Just The Tip.
