Hi, I'm right here with Jon LaCorte friend and hunting partner.
We're going to talk a little bit about the three to nine by forty (3-9x40mm) EFR
Riflescope. Jon, can you tell us what the EFR means and about the scope?
Sure, EFR stands for Extended
Focus Range, what that means is the scope actually has an adjustable objective
that allows you to dial down to distances that you don't normally
have available with standard adjustable objective or side parallax scopes,
and the reason for that is Rimfire or air rifle shooting.
This is a scope that's specifically designed for those applications
Rimfire, obviously, is more of a close range sport,
air rifle, most air rifle competitions are
at ten meters. So, that objective allows you to dial for those really close distances
at the same time have the scope on high magnification for really precision shooting.
You can dial the parallax down to ten meters or thirty three feet, again,
which is standard air gun competition distance
and I shoot a lot of spring piston air guns and they really wreak
havoc and destroy a lot of scopes. It's nice to know
that the Nikon ProStaff series is plenty strong enough to handle the dual
recoil or the reverse recoil
from a powerful spring piston air gun.
This has virtually everything you're going to need, click adjustments,
fast focus eye piece, three to nine magnification,
from ten meters to infinity parallax adjustment, or some people like to use it
simply, say it, as a focus range. But it has everything you need, a
reasonably priced air gun scope. Durable enough
to take the punishing recoil
of a high-powered spring piston air gun rifle.
That's correct, and you know we added a specialized reticle that we call a
precision reticle,
and what it is, it's a fine crosshair.
The small dot is slightly thicker than the actual cross hair, it still has the thick
post but we spread them out so it doesn't cover a lot of the target. That dot in
the center actually allows you to find the center of a circular target like
a bull's eye, especially those air rifle targets. Allows you to find that center much easier than
a crosshair. A great scope even for a beginner and
a great scope even for that advanced target shooter. It's been a long time
waiting for something like this on the market, in this price point, in this
quality.
I'm very happy to see it, thank you Jon. You're welcome, Steve.
The ProStaff EFR will be available March 1st.
