Welcome to the nursing lab, my name is Jeanette Cochran. I'm a clinical instructor as well
as nursing lab staff here in the nursing resource center, the NRC as we call it. And I'm just
going to give you a quick tour here of the things that are in the nursing lab. So first
of all, I'd like to show you, right as you walk into the nursing lab here you'll see
the schedule. So if you don't know what room you're meeting in, this is the place to check.
It'll have your instructor name and room number right next to it. You'll walk thorugh here.
You'll see a couple of study rooms that you're more than welcome to use. There's a conference
room on the left here. To your right you will see room 174 and here you will see we have
room 174. Room 174 is our mock outpatient setting so we do have eight different exam
rooms that we can practice in here. And as you might be able to see, we have an otoscope
and opthalmoscope attached to the wall. We also have a very large common for everybody
to debrief aftewards, after your assessments. After you head into the nursing lobby again,
if you were to turn to your left, we'll go down to the mock hospital room simulation
room. Here in room 173A and B across the hallway, we've tried to simulate a hospital setting
here. We have four separate beds and with each separate bed we have wall suction as
well as wall oxygen delivery (it is simulated, however, not real oxygen) as well as IV poles.
