And the fish.
Hey, Kenny art here. I'm at a place off highway 101 by a lake called, lost lake.
And I actually have a geocache out here called, Catch and release.
And the last person who was here looking for it, they had trouble finding it.
And I know it's
a difficult one to find and I think the area has grown up a lot since I put it here.
It's been out here a couple of years.
So I'm going to change it a little bit.
I'm going to walk out here to the lake
and see what's going on.
Wow! The lake is a lot higher than it is normally.
Actually I have noticed quite a few of the lakes around here
on the coast this year seem to be really high.
We did have quite a bit of rain in December.
Well, on to the cache location.
There's a bunch more of these
monterey pine trees growing down here.
There're pretty cool.
I'm not sure what's going on here. I don't remember these
steps put here before.
Looks like somebody made a little trail. Hmm...
Well, my GPS says that we are a hundred feet.
Used to be a pretty good trail here, it's getting grown over.
Lost lake!
People come down here and go fishing.
The geocache should be around here somewhere. If I can remember where it is.
Oh, here's the stick it's supposed to be on.
And here's the fishing line and the fish.
Where's the cache container?
There's the container. It's nice and dry inside.
I brought a new fish.
Ok, I have finished
replacing my geocache
catch and release.
It's now hanging up in the tree. GC1K6ZD "Catch and release"
Yes I do need to reset the coordinates because they're a little bit different, so I'm going to do that.
Then I'll walk down to edge of the lake and take more pictures.
Well, I got the new coordinates. Think it's going to be about
maybe thirty five, forty feet from where it was.
But it's hanging on this big
monterey pine tree.
Let's go ahead and walk down to the lake here.
There's a better place to see the lake from right up here.
People come out here and go fishing for trout.
I tried fishing here with my son
and one of his friends one day.
We had a good
afternoon sitting in our lawn chairs.
Fishing in the lake.
We didn't catch anything though, be we had a
good time!
It's pretty hard to walk around the edge of the lake. You can see how thick the brush is.
I'm not sure if you can get to it from here or not. The trail is pretty dim from here on.
And the water is a lot higher than I usually see it.
Probably about
four or five feet maybe.
Well it's time to head back.
I had fun
fixing my geocache out here.
Maybe the next person that looks for it will be able find it now.
We can hope.
These monterey pines get really big.
Thought I'd carry this trash out. It doesn't belong back here.
I'm not sure,
but I know there are quite a few
places along the oregon coast where there used to be
a campground or picnic area or a park.
And I suspect since uh....
this place here
has a gate
and the remnants of a road.
That this could have been a day use area at one time.
Or even a small campground.
But, not anymore.
I hope you have enjoyed watching my video.
If so, leave a comment.
Thanks for watching.
See ya around!
