how long have you been working here?
Almost for four years.
Growing up what was your dream job?
Actually I was a communication major when I was in college,
I would play football in college, um school communications and then I decided to become a plumber
once I made it to my senior year, there was more money in plumbing than communications, that was thirty-five years ago.

so I'm Jaime Sanchez
And I am Naomi Esparza
why did you choose to become a mentor and what level of education are you pursuing?
well for me I wanted to become a school counselor and I thought that becoming a peer mentor
mentor would really benefit me in and that I
would get to work with students
, um provide them with resources that are on campus
which are thing that I might be doing when I am a school counselor in the future so that's personally my reason.
hey guys you just met our mentors for our university one-hundred class
and now it's time to introduce you to one of the best librarians at CSUN.
alright so my name is Susanna Eng-ziskin and I am a first year experience librarian at CSUN.
What is a typical day for you?
um so
there really is no typical day in librarianship, which is kind of what I like,
some days I'll be teaching, um
information literacy classes, from nine thirty in the morning till three fifteen in the afternoon
um others days I don't teach at all, sometimes I am at the refrence desk
sometimes I'm online buying books for our collection,
um other times I'm working on other projects, so
part of what I like here is that there is no typical day.
what is your favorite part of your job?
uh working with students, I love working with students,
and interacting with them, and giving patient care, and uh education.
the students, teasing the students, trying you know, watching them grow up,
watching them advance, and become older
meeting new people and seeing
how the freshmen bond, when you first come in as a freshmen
you don't really know anybody so it's kind of scary
and it is nice to see everybody in the class, like get together, and they start talking
talking to each other, and they actually started hanging out.
I think it is really good for everybody to have that experience,
and not to be alone um working with students
my favorite part of my job is probably teaching and um when I have
that moment with a student
who finally really kind of gets and understands something.
I know that is really hard for students to
feel excited about coming to the library and doing research
and so if I can get students at all excited about doing it, I consider that a job well done.
hey guys that's it for today.hope you guys liked it bye.
