Hey there! It's me, Mr. T.—that kinda crazy guy!
Well let me tell you about somebody else who's crazy and that's my brother.
Now the other day, we were going over to the computer store at the mall
because we heard they're having a great sale on DVD burners and software and stuff.
Well, we're walking up to the mall, we're walking up, and my brother says, "Hey, wait a minute!"
He bends down.
You know what he found?
A man's wallet!
Now, in that wallet,
there were $500.
Five-hundred dollars!
What do you think he did with it?
Or better yet, let me ask you... "What would you do with it?"
What would you do with it if you found a wallet that had $500?
Would you just put it in your pocket...
and keep walking?
Well, let me tell you what my brother did.
He looked in the wallet. He found the man's name and address.
He called the man and he said,
"Sir, I have your wallet. I want to make sure you get it back."
And you know another cool thing? That man, the reason he was going to the computer store that day,
is he was going to buy a bunch of software to donate to our school.
Now, because he got that money back, he bought it, donated it. Now our school has that software.
Isn't that cool!
But the coolest part about that is that my brother proved that he could be trusted.
That he was trustworthy.
Now, trust is not something that just happens overnight. No sir.
It's like, like building a foundation of a building.
Every time you tell the truth—boom!—you lay a brick.
Every time you prove that you can be trustworthy—boom!—you lay another brick, and another, and another
until after a period of time you've built a huge foundation that's strong, that doesn't matter if the rain comes,
if the wind blows—it doesn't matter because that foundation is going to be strong just like you.
Now, would you like to be known as someone who is a liar, and a cheat, and a thief?
Or would you like to be known as someone who always tells the truth,
who does their very best in every situation to be trustworthy?
Well, let me tell you something. I want to encourage you to be a person who can be trusted,
whose word can be trusted,
who is always looked to with respect because we know that when you say something, you're gonna do it.
I'm going to encourage you because I want you to be trustworthy.
