I'm Jeanette Richards, I am the internship specialist for the Workability IV program
here at SDSU, and I'm here to give you some advice about internships!
One thing I always repeat is, an internship is the number one thing that makes the difference
between getting a job after you graduate and not.
Employers look for experience, so getting an internship can be just as competitive as
getting a job.
It's really important to start early - six months early (before graduation) is not unusual
for an internship. Don't wait till your last semester.
If you have any questions come to the Career Center to learn more about internships, and
also talk to the internship coordinator in your department. There are many on campus
who are all here to help you!
