Well if you live in the Coeur d'Alene area of North Idaho your definitely in the right
place place. Hi my name is Carl Stearns and I'm here to
help make it much simpler. In my video series I'm going tell you the answers to the questions
that you should know before you sign up for any type of high-speed internet service in
the Coeur d'Alene area. Cutting through the technical stuff I'm going to tell you what
really matters when selecting a high-speed internet service.
So let's go ahead of the answer this first question.
Does High-Speed Internet Require Telephone Service?
In most cases no. Cable internet service operates over the same
coaxial cable network in your area that provides cable tv. The cable services both downstream
and upstream internet traffic and does not require a landline telephone. Cable companies
that offer telephone service are actually running that service via the cable network
rather than through the local phone company. In this case if your cable service or electrical
service experiences an outage you will not have telephone service.
DSL operates over the copper telephone lines that service your home; however, standard
telephone service is not technically required to receive DSL internet service. With DSL
you can have phone service and internet service over the same telephone lines without affect
each other. In other words, you can talk on the phone at the same time you are using the
internet. Though a telephone landline is not technically required to receive DSL, Coeur
d'Alene DSL provider, Frontier Communications offers very competitive landline packages.
Note that unlike cable telephone service, landline telephones will remain in service
during most electrical outages in your home. This make them a great emergency backup to
your cell phone service. You really need to eliminate the confusion
before you make a decision. Today you're in the driver's seat because you've got options
between Frontier Communications, the local cable company, wireless and satellite Internet
service. Don't be confused. Get clarity. You can win this one.
